Ryder Cup Commemorative £5 note

This hybrid note was issued by The Royal Bank of Scotland in 2014 to commemorate the Ryder Cup which was being held at Gleneagles in Scotland

Design features which are specific to this note are as follows:

Front

• Image of the Ryder Cup on the left hand side overlapping a clear window in the shape of the Ryder Cup Europe logo
• Lined image of the Ryder Cup appears to the left of the Royal Bank of Scotland title and the words 'Five Pounds'

Back

• Centrepiece depicts an image of the Ryder Cup
• Images of Gleneagles hotel and golf course
• Representation of the banking hall ceiling at 36 St Andrews Square Edinburgh has been replaced with a pattern of golf Clubs
• The Ryder Cup Europe logo with location, Gleneagles Scotland underneath
• Name and logo belonging to the printers of the note "Giesecke & Devrient"
