This note was Issued by The Royal Bank of Scotland in 2005 to commemorate the final appearance of Jack Nicklaus at the Open Championship

Design features which are specific to this note are as follows:

  • Two portraits of Jack Nicklaus against a background of a salver based on a representation of the banking hall ceiling at 36 St Andrew Square, Edinburgh and containing images of golf tees and the Claret Jug and the words "St Andrews winner 1970 and 1978"
  • The Royal and Ancient Golf Club House at St Andrews
  • The hole yardages of the Old Course at St Andrews for the 2005 Open set against a background depicting the Swilken Bridge
  • Nicklaus's scores for each round when he won the Open IN 1970 and 1978
  • Jack Nicklaus's name printed across the note near the top border
  • The Jack Nicklaus Golden Bear logo
