New Business Statistics

The Committee of Scottish Bankers collates statistics quarterly on new business start-ups based in Scotland that have opened accounts with any of its contributing Banks.  Banks currently contributing data are: Bank of Scotland, Clydesdale Bank, Lloyds TSB Scotland and Royal Bank of Scotland.

The new business start-up data are organised by:

Bank of England Industrial Classification [table of definitions];
Legal Entity;
Local Authority;
Enterprise Region;
Scottish Parliamentary Constituency;
UK Parliamentary Constituency.

Publication schedule

In normal circumstances, CSCB would expect to publish New Business Statistics on this website  in accordance with the undernoted schedule.  However, the schedule may be subject to change due to unforeseen events.

Quarter 1 - in the second week of June
Quarter 2 - in the second week of September
Quarter 3 - in the second week of December
Quarter 4 - in the second week of March
